The Journey So Far
Laolu Adewumi (Adewumi Adetunji Olaoluwa), is a Nigerian singer, song writer and Producer born March 26th 1994, also born and raised in Lagos. Laolu, at age 4 started singing at home with his elder brother who also influenced him into songwriting.
Music as a career started unofficially while he was studying Marketing at Yaba College of Technology, singing at different events on campus. He was also once a music director of a campus fellowship. He has worked with several producers on different projects as a backing vocalist for artists such as Folabi Nuel, James Okon(South Africa), to mention a few.
Laolu start his journey as a music producer in 2018, self learning with every resource he could get. He his inspired by the greats in music production such as, Timbaland, Pharrell, Troy Taylor, Cobhams Asuquo, ID Cabasa etc. In 2020, he adopted the name ‘Uncle LA’ as his Producer name as it was one of his nick names
Today he has produced many songs for many artists in the Gospel scene such as, DJ Gosporella(Nigerian Ace DJ), Moses Akoh, Kachi Annuncia, etc. His versatility across genres allows him to uniquely create outstanding musical works.
In 2020, he officially took off as an artist with his sensational track titled Jesu Yo Mi which has impacted lives around the globe.
Laolu has a vision to bear God’s light through sounds of Hope, Peace, love and Reconciliation which is reflected in his music. His musical influences are Lighthouse Family, Lagbaja, Kenny Kore, For King and Country, Nathaniel Bassey.
He believes that with his unique approach to music and consistently dishing out excellent inspiring music pieces, Laolu Adewumi will be a Household Name in the Global Music Industry in the near future.
